This is the Gocheer rechargeable airbrush.
I was looking for something that I could just throw in my case to take with me on my regular visits to Romania.
My other one is a bit of a pain, with mains cable compressor, the gun itself plus the airline.
This is a much more compact setup. with just a small USB charging cable and the airgun assembly and that's it.
I'm loving the simplicity of it. Providing you've remembered to charge it, just put a few drops of paint in and away you go. Just a matter of seconds to get it going.
Performance itself is very good but it does have a couple of limitations. It's a single action trigger so while you can vary the flow of the paint you can't control the airflow, it remains constant. In real terms it means that it's not quite as good with smaller/fine details as a dual action trigger. It takes a lot more skill and care if you are trying to spray smaller areas. However, the manufacturer wisely thought to supply an adaptor which will allow you to use a third party dual action gun. This means you have all the advantages of the portability and the versatility of your own dual action gun
The paint cup on this is a great size and plays of the strength of the Gocheer to spray larger areas well. The paint cup also has a lid so if you have a lot of paint in there it reduces the danger of spillage.
The battery is stated for 30 mins use and whilst I've not timed it flat out for 30 mins (you would never need to do that) I've found it comfortably lasts me an afternoon's paint session and if I have a bit of a break in painting for masking up or sanding/filling for instance I'll just put it on charge again while I'm doing so.
I've just used it solely on a 1:32 scale replica house and am more than happy with it's performance.
