I was going to give this camera 5 stars but discovered one thing that has removed one star. Don't get me wrong, this camera is brilliant for the price but corners have been cut to keep it at a low price.
The camera comes with a neat carry bag that also has a belt loop so I can have at the ready at all times. It has built in stabilty enhancement to allow for 'shaky hands' I can't see the need for the face recognition bit but it is there if needed.
There is a micro HDMI output to connect to a TV and a 3.5mm TV output and a mini USB output to connect to a PC. The camera switches on automatically when the screen is opened so from start up to record is no more than 5 seconds. Ideal for those 'sudden moments'
Switching from video to camera or the gallery is very easy to. Just press the mode button and the camera switches to the required part.
That is the good bits. There are three bad bits that removed the one star.
1 FHD, 1920x1080p records only 15 frames a second. this is half the amount used by other cameras. in HDReady mode (720p) it does record at 30 frames a second which then brings us on to issue two
2 18 times digital zoom is OK but the closer the zoom, the grainier the image becomes
3 The remote control. I sometimes think these are afterthoughts as it is not very good to use. There is very little 'feel' when a button is pressed so I have to look to ensure that the function I have chosen is actually doing it.
The three issues are minor in comparison to the great other features of the camera
For some reason I am unable to upload pictures? I will be videoing a band playing next month which I will put on YouTube
