Great hydration bladder

  My boys do a lot of camping and outdoor activities, thanks to Scouts. I cannot begin to tell you how many water bottles I go through in a year. They get lost, they get destroyed, they begin to get funky tastes or smells from impromper cleaning or who knows what when the boys are away on their trips... So I am always looking for new bottles to stock the house with. And often they are required to take two 36 or 48 ounce bottles with them on their trips, which can be quite annoying when you have multiple bottles to carry. I thought maybe we should try a hydration bladder instead, freeing them up from bulky bottles swinging from their packs on carbiners and distributing the water evenly across their back in their pack instead.

My youngest decided to use this for his pack since he had such a hard time with the bottles. He said it was much easier for him to carry since it was inside his pack. He said it didn't seem like he was carrying anything at all, though his pack did feel heavier. But the thing he liked the most was the fact he could get a drink anytime he wanted without having to stop and unclip his water bottle and then worry about spilling it if he was still walking. He could just uncap the end resting on his shoulder strap and take a drink, continuing with the hiking or activities he was already engaged in.

It has a nice wide mouth making it easy to fill and even easier to clean. My husband has a water bladder he uses when he is biking and it is nearly impossible to clean. He has a long skewer type tool he fashioned that he puts through the filling hole and then tries to swipe around a paper towel he has attached to it. Not very effective if you ask me. But with this wide mouth opening that screws on and off, you don't have to worry about cleanliness because it is so easy to use. Plus it can be filled to varying levels, up to 2 liters. It is a dark green and didn't have any plastic or chemical smell to it when I unwrapped it initially, but I did make sure to wash it well before letting him use it.

I think this is a great water bladder for the seasoned hiker or outdoor enthusiast.
