I am a huge fan of a steaming bath after a long day of work, needless to say, I enjoy using bath salts to make my bath more interesting. Prior to ordering these bath bombs, I had only tried bath bombs once and the brand I got was terrible. The bath bombs fell apart before I could even finish unwrapping them. I am pleased to say that this product by Scotin, and another bath bomb set by this manufacturer as well, changed my opinion of bath bombs!
The product arrived in a pretty box, undamaged on the exterior. None of the 12 included bath bombs were damaged either. Each of the twelve bath bombs had a different scent, so the options were lavender, orange, peppermint, lemon, chamomile, grapefruit, tea tree, bergamot, rose, rosemary, cinnamon, and jasmine. These bath bombs appeared to be about the same size as my prior experience with bath bombs, but much better designed. Their size was consistent with the advertisement, which noted they are 2 inches in diameter.
Of course, the only way to really test a bath bomb is to use it. The first one I tried was the Tea Tree bath bomb. bath bomb had a paper cover and then two layers of plastic to remove before it could be added to the water. The plastic was tight, but reasonably easy to remove. The bath bomb held together well, which was a great relief after my prior experience with bath bombs, and started to bubble as soon as I added it to my bath water. It did color the water a light yellow-green. However, it did not color the side of the tub or my skin at all, which I was concerned about after reading reviews of other bath bombs.
Close to the water, the scent level was subtle but I could clearly tell it was a tea tree bath bomb. I will say that when I was sitting up in the tub, it was a very difficult to smell the bath bomb. Sitting in the water felt great and my skin felt softer and refreshed after using this bath bomb. I waited a few days and tried another scent, the Jasmine bath bomb, and had consistent results. The scent level was lower than I would have liked since I struggled to smell the scents at times, but the bath bomb left my skin feeling great!
Overall, I would rate this product by Scotin at 3 out of 5 stars. I liked these bath bombs, but the scent could have been stronger so that it would permeate the bathroom better instead of only smelling it when my nose was near the surface of the water. I could not smell it at all unless I was laying in the water. That said, I would still recommend these bath bombs to a friend.
