Cook Zest Sella is an extra-long variety of rice that offers an aromatic fragrance and an exceptional flavor. Our Sella rice is carefully nurtured and cultivated in the foothills of the Himalayas, where it retains its high nutritional value and blends a natural taste from the glacial waters. Aging the rice strengthens the aroma and taste even more. Each grain cooks up into a wonderfully long, slender and fluffy grain. We are famous for a non-sticky texture after cooking. Our commitment to provide you the best quality ensures a consistent taste Cooking Instructions: Sella rice needs to be soaked for at least 30 minutes before cooking. This allows the grains to absorb water and cook evenly without breaking. Sella rice is traditionally cooked by steaming not by boiling it in water, so use just enough heat to create steam (low simmer). Do Not Boil to Cook! Combine rice, water, and butter or oil(optional) in a pot and bring to a boil. Cover with a tight-fitting lid, reduce heat to low-simmer, and cook 15 minutes. Remove from heat (with lid on!) and steam for 10 minutes. Fluff with fork. *If rice is crunchy at the end of cooking time, it may be necessary to add 1-2 Tbsp. liquid and cook longer. Tips: Put twice as much water to volume of rice in a pan bring to boil Add salt to taste! If rice is sticky, use lower heat next time. If you find the rice to be too \'sticky\' for your taste you may rinse it before cooking. If rice is crunchy you may add 1/8 cup of water, return to low heat and wait 7-10 minutes. Do not stir!
